I (Leslie) took Monday off from work to do some more work on the backyard. I ran off to Ozark Nursery and purchased 3 red-twig dogwoods, 2 oakleaf hydrangeas, and a flowering crabapple. Then I swang a pick over and over and over to break up the rocky dirt enough to dig holes for the new plants. I did that one too many times--pulled something in my shoulder and couldn't even lift the pick after that. I also raked & picked up rocks (a never-ending task, it seems)--several wheelbarrows full. I did save the biggest hole (for the tree) for Dale to dig after he got home.
